Throughout history, independent minds without professional or academic associations have made great contributions in every field of study. Einstein was a patent clerk. In spite of the current methods and technology, the human mind is still the most powerful tool used in science. So the current arrogance of the medical establishment that no layman can any longer make any significant contribution to medical science is just wrong.
